SUCCESS FOR ALL

Autumn term

In the first half term for history we looked at the Norman Conquest and in particular, why the Battle of Hastings is considered an important turning point in British history. We studied William the conqueror's introduction of castles in England and built our own motte and bailey and stone keep castles!

In the second half of the Autumn term for PSHE we have been looking at what 'friendly disposition' means and the kinds of behaviour that may cause a person to struggle to make and keep friends. We produced a tableaux ( a ‘freeze-frame’ of motionless figures representing the scene) showing the aggressive behaviour and its effect on the witnesses. We then discussed what the witnesses could do to de-escalate the situation.

We were also fortunate enough to participate in a jousting session during the Tudor workshop held on Tuesday November 21st. We used some of the jousting equipment and wore the uniform which was typically worn. Here are some of the photos from the activity!
